The teams on both ends of the move did a fantastic job. They took great care of our belongings throughout. It was also great to deal with such positive, upbeat people. Thank you Two Small Men.

Moving a piano can be one of the of the most challenging moves for one reason: They are heavy, there's nothing easy to grab onto, and the piano itself is delicate.
Our Calgary movers are excellent at moving pianos. Whether your moving an upright or a baby grand our movers can get the job done.
Step 1: Our moving coordinators gather as much information as possible including : Type of Piano, Dimensions, Access (Stairs, Hallways, Etc...)
Step 2: Our Movers arrive, and we begin the moving process. This includes wrapping the piano in moving blankets, taping the keyboard lid shut, and in some situations removing the legs and pedals. We then lay floor runners and use straps to begin the moving process.
Step 3: We Move the piano from its location and into the truck. The piano is strapped tightly to the wall of the moving truck and we complete the delivery at the new location.
Tip: Don't get it tuned right away. Give it two or three weeks to settle into the new room first. Moving a piano will cause it to go out of tune, and it needs time to adjust to its environment so the tuning will actually hold.
Calgary has a few area's of the city that make a piano move more difficult:
Heritage homes in Kensington, Hillhurst, and Inglewood. Alot of heritage homes in theses areas have narrow staircases that tend to bend near the top or bottom of the stairs. Our solution to overcome this issue is to measure every doorway and landing ahead of time so there are no surprises on the day we move your piano.
Downtown and Beltline condos. Parking and Elevators in larger condos are a hot commodity and sometimes need to be booked weeks in advance. Our move coordinators can help you organize all the logistics.
Bridgeland's hills. A few of the streets in this area are very steep. This changes how we park the moving truck and keep your piano safe during the move.
Winter. Massive temperature fluctuations are hard on a piano, so we blanket it and keep it out of the cold as much as we can.
Moving a piano over a long distance can be nerve racking. Our long-distance moving service handles Piano Moves with great carei. We ensure the piano is wrapped and secured just like a local move.
Our Calgary Piano Moves are quoted separate from a regular move. Because this is a speciality service and it takes special gear, an extra set of hands, and more time. The cost of a piano move really depends on the piano and the building. Our move coordinators will provide you with a price after we've gathered all the information.
