In any home that's been lived in long enough, there's bound to be some clutter. So when you finally do make the decision to move, it's a great time to reevaluate some of those "prized possessions" and decide what really needs to stay and what desperately needs to go.
And whether it's hideous antique furniture, unused exercise equipment or a spare mattress that's seen better days, we can help you get rid of all the junk you don't want to see ever again. Wherever you are in Calgary, we can be there in a flash to haul it all away.
What we'll take
We'll take anything as long as it's not toxic or hazardous:
Old furniture — couches, mattresses, dressers, the lot
Appliances — fridges, washers, dryers, the fried microwave
Electronics and e-waste — TVs, monitors, old computers
Renovation debris, yard waste, and all the stuff you'd find in a garage or basement
The leftovers from an estate or downsizing clean out
How it works
It's easy. Give us a general idea of what you need to get rid of and we'll give you a quote that covers the whole price with no hourly rate or hidden fees. We'll get there on time and load up all the junk ourselves. There's no need for you to do any lifting. Most of the time, this can all be done in one day. Maybe two if it's a huge job.
Where it goes
Only actual trash goes to the dump. If anything is still in working order or useful to someone else, we'll bring it to a local charity. We'll bring over old electronics to the appropriate e-waste recycling centre and do the same for products predominantly made of metal, wood or cardboard. Obviously, a lot needs to be thrown away, but we'll also try to salvage as much as we can, especially when it's for a good cause.
What it costs
We determine the price based on how much space your junk will take up in our truck. There is no hourly rate and, as above mentioned, we'll give you an accurate quote if you give us a reasonable idea of how much junk you've got. Even a full truck's worth of junk hauled away by us usually ends up costing less than renting a container and filling it yourself, not to mention the effort you'll be saving as well.
Junk removal vs. the dump
Calgary has several accessible landfills and they will accept anything you can bring over at the rate of approximately $113 a tonne, but many don't have the type of vehicle or the time to do this, and the heavy lifting involved can make the whole process pretty arduous.
