When Josh Methot and his business partner Art Leslie started up their Calgary real estate business more than a decade ago, they had success in mind but didn’t know that their company would so quickly rise to become one of top teams in the city. “We started at zero,” says Josh. “We’ve been a partnership here in Calgary for 10 years and we serve mostly the inner city of Calgary, which is kind of the older historical part.”

Having steadily grown the business through reputation and referrals, Josh and co. understand the importance of consistency offering great service.

“We’ve really just mostly focused on our reputation, to be honest,” he says. 

While successful sales are obviously the bread and butter of the company, Josh says it’s not the be-all and end-all.

“We don’t care if you buy or sell a property. We’re there to help you.”

With that in mind, every client relationship becomes a long-term investment. 

“We always think like this; this person is going to buy or sell another property down the road with us and they’re going to refer their friends and family.”

This is impossible when you try to rush the sale.

“If you try to force somebody or try to push a sale, it’s very transactional. It might work this one time, right, but it’s not going to earn you business in the future.”

Instead, the focus is put on quality.

“Just do a great job and then you get the opportunity to do more of that.”

With their roots planted so firmly in Calgary, their knowledge and familiarity of the area is second to none.

“I grew up in the inner city too, so it’s like I literally have lived here and worked here for my whole life,” says Josh.

Many of the homes that the team sells are detached and semi-detached units that are woven into the historical fabric of Calgary.

“We sell lots of historical homes, character homes.”

A lot of the concern that buyers tend to have when in the market for an older home has to do with fear of the unknown. Dealing with a team so entrenched in the area can alleviate that. 

“You need to see it with a professional team because you don’t know what you don’t know.”

“We try not to align ourselves with people who don’t offer great service. And a great value too.”
