It's hard to move without a few items getting damaged or broken in the process. But if things are packed properly, they stand a much better chance at surviving. If dishes, plates and glasses get wrapped and stored the right way, they'll show up in the new home in the same condition you remember. if they're tossed haphazardly into a box, you might be eating off paper plates for a while. Fortunately, our experienced movers in Calgary have pretty much packed everything there is under the sun, so if you wan the whole house packed up or just the kitchen stuff, we can do that for you.

You decide what we pack

Three ways to do it:

• Full pack — we cover everything in house room by room, wrapping everything and labelling boxes based on where they're going. Two movers can pack up a full three-bedroom in about a day and a half

• Partial pack — this option gets chosen a lot. Point us towards any fragile items or the kitchen which is full of stuff that often breaks during moves, and we'll pack that up while you handle clothing and all the easy items.

• Specialty — this option covers art, antiques, electronics, and instruments. These items require special care as well as custom wrapping and the right box.

• Unpacking too, if you want — if you want, we can unpack the boxes once we've made it to your new home and we'll even take the cardboard boxes away so you're not left with all that to clean up.

How we do it

First, we'll need to do a quick walk-through to so we know what needs packing and what supplies we'll need to do that. On the day-of, we'll show up with trusty sturdy boxes and actual packing paper instead of newsprint so your items will get packed properly kept clean. We've got dish barrels for the glassware and wardrobe boxes for your clothing, which stays on the hangers. Everything gets to the room it's supposed to because of the labels we use and our packing materials are included in the price of the service.

Packing for the cold

We pack differently depending on the season. The extreme cold will have a negative impact on electronics, vinyl and anything containing liquid, so we have special thermal blankets for those items and we make sure they stay in the ruck for less time. In Chinook or rainy weather, condensation can play a factor as well so, on cold moving days, we keep an eye on the forecast and plan accordingly.

What it costs

The price of packing is usually separate from the move cost itself and can cost anywhere between 25-40% of what was quoted for the move. That depends on how much you need us to pack and the fragility of the items. These prices will vary based on the season. When you get your free quote we can also figure out what packing will cost.
