Staff Spotlight on Two Small Men's Alie Tangney

Alie Tangney has only been with Two Small Men for a year and a half, but she already feels like an invaluable member of the team. Her journey here is unique and full of educational and professional experience that's shaped who she is.

Having moved multiple times across Canada—from Maple Ridge to Saskatchewan, back to BC, and eventually settling in Edmonton—she knows firsthand the challenges and triumphs of organizing long-distance moves.

"My first big move was from BC to Saskatchewan in my early twenties," Alie recalls. "I still remember one of my friends saying, 'Let's put all your stuff in the trailer and just go.' That spontaneity and trust in the people around me made such a difference."

Alie came back to BC and completed her bachelor's degree. She headed out to Edmonton a year later where she made the regrettable decision of trying to handle the complicated move herself.

"Looking back, I can see how hiring professional movers would have made things so much easier," she admits with a laugh. "We were exhausted by the time we arrived. If we ever move again, I'd definitely leave it to the pros!"

Alie comes from a background in event management where she coordinated corporate conferences and community festivals. It was this aspect that made her transition to Two Small Men natural.

"What drew me to this company was the culture," Alie shares. "From day one, I felt welcomed. The team here genuinely cares about each other and the customers we serve. That sense of community is something I value deeply."

Community is more than just a word for Alie. Two Small Men wouldn't be where it is today without the support of communities across Canada and Alie is all on board with giving back to these communities in the form volunteering at local shelters, participating in charity runs, or simply checking in on neighbours.

"I believe that small acts of kindness can make a big difference," Alie says. "That's one of the reasons I love working here. Two Small Men has a real commitment to giving back, and I get to be a part of that every day."

Alie can't help but be hopeful for the future, both in regards to Two Small Men's presence in Edmonton and beyond.

"I see so much potential here," she says. "The team is incredible, and there's a real sense of purpose in what we do. I can't wait to see where we go from here."
