Edmonton is such a large and diverse place that it can be hard to narrow down just where you want to live. if you plan on moving to Edmonton Determining the “best” neighbourhoods is such a subjective process. What one person might think is the best neighbourhood in the city another person might think is the worst.

Still, we’ve put together a list of some of the best neighbourhoods in Edmonton based on criteria that everyone can agree are important, such as high-quality schools, business opportunities, and access to amenities such as parks and entertainment.

Here are our picks:

Laurel Heights
Laurel Heights lies just west of downtown Alberta, which gives it access to a plethora of dining, shopping and entertainment opportunities. The neighbourhood has many of its own amenities, including its own petting zoo, a huge park, and quality schools.

Queen Mary Park
Just north of the city center is Queen Mary Park. The neighbourhood has a park by the same name that has a lot of family-friendly features and recreational opportunities. While the neighbourhood is almost exclusively residential, it does have easy access to downtown, which includes many dining and entertainment opportunities.

Oliver
Olive is primarily a rental community, and there are many affordable options for both apartments and houses. There are several schools in the community, so residents have their choices of quality educational options for their children.

Silver Berry
Silver Berry features beautiful green spaces, water activities, low crime rates and good schools. It is primarily a residential community, and it is an ideal place for families to settle down.

Prince Rupert
Prince Rupert is a residential community, but it is conveniently located next to several major highways, the airport, and downtown. It also has access to Airway Park for recreational and entertainment opportunities.
