Jason Crawford's progressive hereditary eye condition, retinitis pigmentosa, forced him out of his job as a youth development worker and onto long-term disability insurance in 2016. Near the end of his insurance, in August 2018, Crawford reached out to Ted Bonar, Program Lead for Career Support and Employment at the CNIB Foundation. With CNIB's assistance, Crawford landed an interview at Two Small Men with Big Hearts, and after only three months—half the internship term—he was offered a full-time position with the company.

Two Small Men co-owner Addison Parfeniuk, who heads the sales team, has worked closely with Jason at the company’s Calgary location since his first day. “Jay’s personality fits so well with our company’s culture. He’s funny and empathetic, and he has this amazing ability to genuinely connect with customers. Moving is generally a stressful experience for even the most organized person, and Jay cares deeply about making sure every move is as stress-free as possible. After seeing how quickly he took to the role, bringing him on full-time was a no-brainer,” said Parfeniuk of the decision to hire Jay.

“Since he started with us, Jay has raised the bar for the quality of our service. I love talking to him, and he provides great insight for the sales team at every weekly meeting. I know my customers are in good hands with Jay.”
