“The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) and several rural fire departments have donated a truckload of firefighting gear and one fire truck to Firefighters Without Borders Canada (FWB Canada).

The gear, including uniforms, medical equipment, hardware, tools, boots, pants, jackets, helmets, balaclavas, self-contained breathing apparatuses, air tanks and various other pieces of firefighting kit, will be trucked to Vancouver and shipped to the Philippines.

Dubbert lauded local moving company Two Small Men with Big Hearts Moving for trucking the donated gear from Winnipeg to Vancouver.

“You can imagine, I think conservatively it would have been about a $7,000 with the truck and driver and labour and all,” he said. “That’s just money we don’t have.” – James Snell / Winnipeg Sun
